8 Years and counting
Church planting
I moved to Minnesota in 2016 and believed I would only be here 5 years and moving to warmer climates. Of course that has changed quite a bit. God has made a place for us here.
We have seen a year of collective Story telling. This year I have told the story of Faith City Church for media about 7 times. I have videos, book case studies, news articles and more. I though about this recently, what does this collective story telling mean.
Why would God highlight this story locally and globally. I am still discovering what it means but first is he want to be glorified. I know the real christian answer but let me explain.
I have never seen much growth in my church plant. I have seen much disciple making. I didnt think I get 100 people but we would impact 70 people as disciples. Remaing faithful has always been the best testimony to me. We at Faith City Church have seen more grief than triumph in the past 5 years.
I am not ashmaned of the journey but now the story is getting out and it is God’s to tell. The narrative of holistic disciplemaking and business that can do social good. I often talk to people and they dont think social problems have deep impact but i beg to differ. The social impact of churches and communites have made a major shift.
After 8 years this story of Faith City Church has overcame the odds. Maybe just maybe our story will help future church planters remain faithful when it is time to quit.
